Reconnect a social account and refresh its access

Restore a social account whose access expired or was revoked, refresh its permissions, and confirm the channel can publish again.

Purpose

Reconnect a social account whose access expired or was revoked and confirm the channel is healthy enough to publish again.

Who this is for

Admins and support restoring a channel whose access has lapsed.

Prerequisites

Steps

  1. Open Social Accounts and find the channel flagged as needing attention.
  2. Read the connection note to see whether access expired or was revoked.
  3. Start the reconnect flow and complete the provider's authorization prompt.
  4. Review the permissions requested and confirm they match what the channel needs.
  5. Return to LumenReach and confirm the connection shows as healthy.
  6. Check publishing readiness so scheduled posts can resume.

Expected result

The social account shows a healthy connection with current permissions, and the channel can publish again.

Verification

If something goes wrong

Reconnect completes but health stays red
Confirm you authorized the same account the channel uses, then reconnect again.
The provider blocks authorization
Sign in to the social platform directly, clear any pending review, then retry the reconnect.
Permissions look reduced after reconnect
Re-run the reconnect and grant the requested permissions so publishing keeps working.

Permissions

Reconnecting a channel needs an admin or support role and access to the social platform account; members cannot reconnect on their own.

Support

If a channel will not return to healthy after reconnecting, ask a workspace admin first. LumenReach support can help without accessing your social platform credentials.
