Fix common first-time setup problems
Resolve the issues new workspaces hit most: invitations that never arrive, blocked checklist steps, plan limits, and sign-in methods that still need setup.
Purpose
Diagnose and clear the most common first-time setup blockers so your workspace, first project, and team reach a ready state.
Who this is for
New owners and admins whose first-time setup is stuck on a specific step.
Prerequisites
- Access to the workspace where setup is stuck.
- The email address of any teammate whose invitation is affected.
- An owner or admin available for steps only they can complete.
Steps
- Open the readiness checklist and note which step is blocked.
- Read the step's note to see what is missing and who can resolve it.
- For a missing invitation, resend it from the members list and ask the teammate to check spam.
- For a plan-limit block, compare plans in billing and add credits or upgrade.
- For a sign-in method that is unavailable, ask a workspace admin to finish that provider's setup.
- Re-open the checklist and confirm the step now shows as ready.
Expected result
The blocked step is resolved or clearly assigned to the owner who can complete it, and the readiness checklist moves forward.
Verification
- The previously blocked checklist item now shows as ready or in progress.
- Resent invitations move from pending to active once accepted.
- The budget panel reflects any plan or credit change you made.
If something goes wrong
- A step stays blocked after a fix
- Open the step's note again; some steps need a workspace owner or admin rather than a member.
- A teammate still cannot find an invitation
- Confirm the email address on the invite, cancel it, and send a fresh one.
- A plan change does not unblock a project
- Confirm the new plan or credits are active in billing before retrying.
Permissions
Members can resolve their own steps; inviting teammates, changing plans, and enabling sign-in providers need an owner or admin.
